About the book:
Historical ornament stencils from residential buildings in Leipzig

With more than 12,000 listed buildings from the Wilhelminian period and Art Nouveau, Leipzig is Germany's monument capital. The splendor of the houses is not only evident in their stucco facades, but also in the interior in large decorative paintings in apartments and stairwells. After reunification, many of these buildings were extensively renovated and restored. Constanze Arndt has collected over 1,500 motifs and prepared them graphically since 1990 in the course of her work as a restorer. Their work has meanwhile gained international fame and made Leipzig a Mecca for lovers of historical buildings, architects, painters and restorers.
In our exhibition we show original works by Constanze Arndt and her book.
As a special exhibit, you can see original historical sketches from the 1900s.
